Eating habits that have a negative effect on health and figure
The diet is very important for the figure and well-being. Your health is affected by what you eat and drink, and the amount of food you eat. Together with other factors such as an adequate amount of sleep, physical activity, healthy supplementation with herbs, it allows you to build fitness, improve the overall endurance of the body and finally work on the appearance of the body. No matter what effect you want to achieve – lose weight, build muscles, emphasize individual parts of the body, improve your eating habits . See what you should give up and what you should cut down on.
Bad eating habits, i.e. what?
Contrary to appearances, bad eating habits are not only eating highly processed foods. Although this is usually the number one sin that people going to diet consultations confess, it is not the only mistake made. It turns out that many mistakes can also be made at the stage of planning meals.
Eating at different times, irregularly, often overeating at night, but also refusing to eat during the day are the main reasons for gaining weight, losing energy and feeling unwell. You feel them the more acutely, the more healthy fuel your body needs. Especially in the transitional seasons, when you are training or recovering from an illness – healthy eating in the right amounts and served at regular intervals is essential.
Other mistakes include snacking between main meals, especially sweet snacks rich in carbohydrates or fats, avoiding fruits and vegetables, not drinking enough water, reaching for food mechanically without checking their composition and nutritional value, and overusing meat. Did you know that, according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, processed animal products (meats, sausages) may increase the risk of developing cancer?
How to change bad eating habits?
Changing your lifestyle and the way you eat is sometimes very difficult. It’s not easy to do because you don’t always know what and why you are doing wrong. And when you find out, it turns out that giving up sweet snacks or fast food, cooking with healthy products, and eating at the same time is very difficult. Therefore, if you cannot cope with the change yourself, contact a dietitian:
- he will point out the mistakes you make,
- learn about your lifestyle, nutrition and expectations (slim figure, better physical condition),
- will adjust an individual diet and training plan,
- will track your progress and keep you motivated.
Knowing that you need to correct bad eating habits is the first step towards making changes. If you can’t do it yourself, get help from a good dietitian.
